Who we are

We all were new, at one time, and we remember what it's like.
So we've provided the information below, knowing that it's easier to
venture into a new place when you know what to expect.

What is a Wesleyan?

Basics (short answer)
We are  a protestant Christian Church with an emphasis on loving God and His people. We meet on sundays for our main gatherings but also have special events and other weekly activities on other days/nights.

History, etc. (long version)
The Wesleyan Church is an evangelical, Protestant denomination. We offer the good news that faith in Jesus Christ makes possible a wonderful personal relationship with God, a holy life empowered by His Holy Spirit for witness and service, and assurance of eternal life in heaven. Our ministries emphasize practical Bible teaching, uplifting worship, and special programs to meet a variety of life needs.

With World Headquarters in Fishers, Indiana, The Wesleyan Church has nearly 400,000 constituents in 4,000 churches and missions in 80 countries of the world. Formed in 1968 resulting from the mergers of several like-minded groups, dating back as far as 1843, The Wesleyan Church has its roots in John Wesley's Methodism.

What to Expect...

THROUGH THE DOORS: At each entrance you will be greeted by a smiling and knowledgeable greeter who is just waiting for you to ask her/him questions about where to go, etc.

MUSIC: Personally, we have seen the issue of music tear good churches and good people apart throughout history. You will find that music is important to us but not MOST important to us. Our style can be described as biblical, experiential, and alive. Some may call it contemporary while others call it traditional...we hope you will join us and make the call for yourself.

AGE: We are a group made up of multiple generations and styles including senior adults, middle age, young adult, youth, children, and newborns.

DRESS: On sunday mornings, you will find a wide variety of dress including the traditional suit/ties on men and dress/skirt on ladies, dress casual, or even some in t-shirts and jeans. We understand that not everyone shares the same tastes in fashion but we ask that all share the same respect for God and those sharing in the gatherings.

MONEY: We DO take a weekly offering that is the opportunity for church family to "help" cover the daily expences of KWC staff and facilites. At no time will any visitor be frowned upon or "expected" to give money to the KWC. We promise.

SAFETY: We realize that no one wants to go to church and get hurt or sick in the process. While we cannot protect ourselves from ever known harm...we have taken multiple precautions including: hand sanitizer stations at each entrance, daily sanitizing of children's equipment, emergency plans for diabetics, volunteer background checks, etc. Please contact the church office with any special needs or questions.
